Dear Friend.
I received your letter several week ago. Am glad to hear you are enjoying good health. Father was taken sick a week ago last friday night and died last Thursday, the 28th at 6:30 in the morning and was buried at Kent on Saturday. He had inflamation of the heart and malaria fever.
Wallace Chesney is staying with us and we will see to your place and I guess we will put some things in it this year. Times are hard down here. I have not been pulling the saw much this winter because wood is hard to sell, it is only from 50 to 60 cts a cord. We have had a mild winter here it only snowed twice here.
Sellars is on his place yet and I guess will stay there a while yet. Millers are still in town yet. Miller has been driving Ely's team this winter. The Chesney boys are here yet. Rob is working for Markwell. George is staying at Sparlings, and Wallace with us. The girls and Johnny are staying with their mother. The Byer's girl is in Tacoma. I don't think that Fred and Aneta will be married. Fred has cut his foot. He goes around on a crutch. Will Hanes is in town yet, but I don't know where George is. Melvin does not say much about you.
Pearl and I are not hitched up together yet and not liable to be for several years and don't know whether we will be then or not. I will have go to work so Good Bye.
From Your Friend
Charlie Burrow.
