My Dear Vevie
Father died this Morning about 9 o'clock Cornelia phoned for us & we went down as soon as we could hitch up, but we was to late, he was gon when we got there he got up this morning as usual dressed himself eat his breakfast, & Cornelia was geting things ready to change his clothes Father was setting in chair & he said to Henry some how or other I cant keep my mind from York state said he kept thinking of his old neighbors & he lyed his head back on the chair & kind of sighed & Cornelia said Father do you want anything & he did not answer & she went to him & he was dead. She call the Doc & they rubed him but he had left us. he has not been sick only feeble was to town not long ago.
have not arranged for the funeral yet but will not be before Wednesday at Henrys I would have sent you a telagram, but thought you could not get here So much snow trains all late - I just sent Henry a dispatch I thought possible he would come
we are well as usual hope you are well we are having dreadful weather & roads awfull could scarcely get to Henrys on account of the snow drifts
